Our technicians at A & A Machine & Fabrication LLC are trained to perform stick welding.
Welding is a highly utilized process across countless industries. There are various methods used by experienced welders, each with its own recommendations and advantages. Some of the most common types include MIG and TIG welding, as well as stick welding (formerly known as shielded metal arc welding).
Stick welding is highly versatile, making it one of the more widely used methods. The process involves utilizing a flux-coated electrode that creates an electric arc with the piece of metal being worked on. Through the creation of significant levels of heat, the arc can melt the electrode and metal piece, which creates a molten weld pool. When it solidifies, the joint created is very strong.
Stick welding can be applied to many types of metals, including stainless steel, steel, and cast iron, as well as other non-ferrous metals. It can be performed in remote and outdoor settings as it doesn’t require the use of external shielding gas, and harsh conditions don’t impact its effectiveness.
Our technicians at A & A Machine & Fabrication LLC are trained to perform stick welding. It is often used to resolve cracks or leaks in pipes that function in petrochemical plants. We can also utilize this method of welding to repair equipment and machinery used in the oil and gas industries. Cracked vessels and damaged components may be repaired onsite in our La Marque, Texas facility by our experienced and trained welders. We are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for urgent needs.
